I am a PhD candidate at University of Campinas (UNICAMP), working mainly with recognition in open-set scenarios, developing methods that can be applied to general open-set problems [1] [8]. I obtained the master’s degree through UNICAMP in open-set recognition [9]. During the masters, I was member of a project financed by Samsung in which we have worked in medical problems as well [2] [3]. This project generated some patents for an open-set method [11] [12] and for a heart view classification method [13]. Through Federal University of Ouro Preto (UFOP) I obtained a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science [10]. During the undergraduate, I worked mainly with digital image processing and in the specific problem of vehicle license plate location [6] and I concluded my education studying the Haskell functional programming language for image processing [10]. Currently, I am working at University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) as a research assistant investigating open-set recognition.
